The W34 is a cranked non locking espag window handle without a key and so offers prospective buyers the ability to mix and match this handle with the locking version W09 around the home. Although this is a non-locking handle it still closes to a locked position by virtue of requiring a pushbutton to unlock it. Importantly, as the case may be, this espag lock does not require a key so may be used in the home where a designated fire-escape route is placed on a particular window as may be the case in many new build homes to meet building regulations.
This is a spindled handle which means that the spindle engages inside the window into a gearbox which connects with the perimeter window locks. When you open a double glazed window you can see these window locks placed around the side or the bottom of the window depending on the orientation of the window. It's a simple window handle design and fairly standard so replacement is not a problem on most double glazed windows. All you need to look out for to replace a cranked espag window lock is the length of the spindle and the fixing centres at 43mm. When you order you will be prompted to choose the handing of the cranked handle as we offer both right handed and left handed versions.
