W06 Double Glazing Window Lock

The W06 Double Glazing Window Lock is a high-quality replacement espag window handle manufactured by Era and commonly recognised as the popular Era Maxim design. Frequently fitted to Everest windows, it provides a reliable replacement where an existing locking window handle has become worn, damaged or difficult to operate. Manufactured from aluminium and finished in white, it offers an excellent combination of durability, smooth operation and dependable everyday performance.
This locking handle is designed for uPVC and double-glazed windows fitted with an espagnolette multi-point locking mechanism. The standard 43mm fixing centres and 7mm square spindle make it suitable for a wide range of modern espag window handles, while spindle lengths from 10mm to 40mm allow you to match the original installation accurately. Left and right-handed versions are available to ensure correct operation and comfortable use.
The push-button mechanism allows the handle to be operated easily during normal use, while the supplied key can deadlock the handle when additional security is required. The W06 has been endurance tested to more than 50,000 operating cycles, tested to BS EN 1670 Grade 3 corrosion resistance and has achieved PAS 24:2012 testing when installed as part of a compliant window, making it an excellent choice when replacing worn replacement window handles.
Fitting and Buying Advice
Before ordering, confirm that your existing handle uses the standard 43mm fixing centres and a 7mm square spindle. Measure the exposed spindle from underneath the base of the existing handle to the tip of the spindle to determine the correct replacement length. The W06 is available with spindle lengths from 10mm to 40mm.
This handle is supplied in both left-handed and right-handed versions. Stand inside the property looking directly at the closed window and match the direction of the existing handle. Selecting the correct handing ensures comfortable operation and allows the handle to sit correctly against the frame.
The W06 is particularly well known as a replacement for many Everest windows fitted with Era Maxim hardware, but it is equally suitable for many other uPVC and aluminium windows using the same espagnolette locking system. During installation, fit the handle with both the window lock and handle in the same open or closed position before tightening the supplied M5 fixing screws. The decorative cover cap then fits neatly over the visible screw to complete the installation.
