The DL01 Tubular Door Latch is a popular method for latching interior doors. There are no locks just a simple sprung latch with a receiver keep. You find them on the majority of doors and the good news is they are easily replaceable as they generally made to two standard sizes in the UK.
This is a reversible latch so can be turned upside down for a left or right hand orientation depending on the door swing.
When replacing an existing tubular latch you may find there is some chipping around the faceplate to do. This is a good thing as it means you can reuse the aperture in your door and make small changes to use the new latches. If you are fitting to a new door then the best way is to rout the slot in the door using a plunge router. If you can't do that you can drill and chisel a suitable aperture to house the latch correctly. As with all things it will come down to how well you prepare and mark out the positioning before starting work.
This is a well made tubular latch product that will give years of reliability. Please check the sizes carefully from our diagram before ordering to ensure you get the correct one and check out the lever on rose door handles and lever backplate door handles where the latch is dicounted by 50% when buying the handles.
