Measuring a Euro Cylinder Lock Barrel

If you are looking to change your euro door locks then this quick guide will help you order the correct product.

There are two ways to measure the sizes of the euro lock cylinder - either in the the door or take the cylinder out of the lock. Both are easy!

MEASURING THE SIZE OF THE EURO LOCK BARREL WHEN THE CYLINDER IS STILL IN THE UPVC DOOR LOCK

Measurement sizes for the euro lock shown on the edge of the door.

Measure from the centre of the screw hole (X) to the edge of the handle backplate on the outside (O) and round up the size to the next 5mm increment i.e. 32mm = 35mm.This will ensure the euro cylinder protrudes from the backplate of the handle (try to keep it as close to the backplate as possible). Now do exactly the same and measure the inner side (I).

Note: Screw hole (X) is the retaining screw for the euro lock barrel.

If ordering a new upvc door handle make sure you allow for the difference in the backplate thickness to your existing handle.
